Flume and Vortex, written by the art historian Jenny Pery, details Giles Rayner's sculpture career in conjunction with that of his father. With a blend of photographs and biography, it charts the years from when Giles and Ranulf tentatively started a business in creating water designs to the more advanced work of recent years. In the past they would always put their heads together to make each others 'impossible' ideas a reality, and although Giles works mainly on his own these days, his father Ranulf remains one of his most trusted critics.
